What does this tool check?
This tool pulls live data from the Companies House public register and tells you:
- How many directors need ID verification — Every active director must verify their identity with Companies House before your next confirmation statement.
- How many PSCs need ID verification — Persons with significant control also have verification obligations tied to the confirmation statement deadline.
- When your confirmation statement is due — The deadline by which all verifications should be complete and your statement filed.
- Days remaining until your deadline — A clear countdown so you know exactly how much time you have.
Why this matters
From 2025, Companies House requires identity verification for all company directors and persons with significant control. If your people haven't verified before the confirmation statement deadline, you won't be able to file — and late filing can lead to penalties, struck-off proceedings, and prosecution of directors.
The hard part isn't understanding the rules — it's tracking whether every person has actually completed their verification across every company you're responsible for.
